French Bouillotte Lamp

In collaboration with Viscaya Wagner Design Studio LLC

Inspiration

The original inspiration for this project came from a french bouillotte lamp that was found in an antique store in Rhode Island.

The lamps design allows the user to lower the shade down as the candle inside burns.

Presented Concept

I was presented with these concepts by my boss and was tasked with refining the concept and presenting her with high quality sketches and CAD renders.

Final Thoughts

Unfortunately my summer work period had ended before the lamp could be built and put into small scale production. The plan for production is to be build on a per-order basis in small quantities. Overall the experience of learning to work with deadlines and meeting my bosses work requirements, along with attending meeting to discuss workflow has really opened my eyes on how the world of design works outside of school.
